The University has been commended by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for its strict adherence to admission guidelines for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, gave the commendation when the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patricia Manko Lar, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the board's headquarters in Abuja on recently.
Oloyede acknowledged the University’s progress in ensuring a transparent and credible admission process, noting that this year’s exercise marked a departure from previous practices.
He said, “I am impressed with the University’s progress in compliance, as demonstrated in the 2024 admission process. While there is still room for improvement, this year’s exercise reflects a clear commitment to best practices.”
For her part, Professor Patricia Manko Lar expressed the readiness of the University to partner with JAMB for the fulfilment of the vision of the University’s founding fathers.
“I am new and want to address all issues related to admissions. I am keen on addressing all admission-related issues to ensure that students admitted to the University of Abuja do not face difficulties upon graduation,” she stated.
She said the University would continue to align with JAMB and other relevant stakeholders to enhance the institution’s reputation as a centre of academic excellence.
